If you slow down time, you can walk in the rain and not get wet.
– Grandpa Al
Grandpa’s words filled my ears as I walked along the gravel path in Cedar Mountain. It was raining. Hard. The sound was white. The kind that can drown out a conversation. I was enveloped in the downpour, but not getting wet.
I wasn’t under an umbrella nor any sort of shelter. I didn’t have a raincoat on. I wore my black Nike shorts with the elastic band that’s a touch too tight, and my used-to-be-red now pink tee shirt with a picture of an RV on it surrounded by snow flakes, pine trees, and reindeer.
I had on my Darn Tough wool socks and Birkenstocks.
My toes remained dry.
It was just like Grandpa said four decades ago.
I finally slowed down time.
Thank you for reading.
